338 win mag, 7mm rem mag, 300 win mag, 270 wsm, 257 wby mag ($$), 308, 25-06, 270 win, 260 rem, 7mm-08, 6.5-284 are all good choices not only for AB but for Canada in general. One of my favourites is a 270 wsm. Flat, hits hard and ammo is at most ma n pa gun shops these days.

Not a 6.5 Creed fan, seems to make everyone who owns one into a "Chris Kyle" these days.

If you want something comparable to the 30-06 but a little better maybe look into a 338 federal.

308 does it all many different ammo options are available everywhere and at reasonable prices

Correct but 80% of the population lives in that other 20% landmass

...and I'm okay with that.
