I have long been a fan of Swift Sciroccos...Not sure why they aren't more popular...
I think it is possibly because the first generation Sciroccos were just a bit fragile.
The jackets were a bit thin, and of course, the word spreads.
I wrote Swift about this issue after recovering two 180 Sciroccos from moose that were pretty well turned inside out,
even at 30-06 velocities, and one at 165 yards! [The retained weight was low, as well.]
I expressed my concern regarding possible results had I shot them from a 308 Norma Mag or 300 Win.
They have beefed them up considerably with the Scirocco II introduction, and now perform very well indeed.
I have no issues with using them, and in fact, have several diameter/weights in my stores, and loaded in various chamberings up to and including the 210/338.
Last year I shot a 3x3 Muley with a 6mm, using the 90 grain Scirocco II. It exited on a broadside shot that broke ribs, so must
have stayed together quite well. The deer dropped right there.
