The only thing that would make the blackout better would be if our stupid government would let us have supressors. I have some 208gr A-max's to load for my AR but have not gotten around to it yet. If I was allowed to put a can on it I would be all over it. I love the idea of being able to shoot without worrying about damage to my hearing or annoying anyone nearby.
So far I have loaded 110gr, 125gr, 143gr, 150gr, 155gr, and 165gr supersonic loads with H110 and will be heading to the range next week to do load testing. Hopefully they all function well and I'm hoping at least a few turn out to be accurate from the 9.75" barrel. I'll post my range results and loads in the reloading section when I get time after my testing.
I've converted 500 rounds of 223 brass into blackout so far which adds to my attraction to the round, 223 brass is easy to come across and easy (but time consuming) to convert, I have around 1000 more sitting in a box in my gun room waiting to start their new life as 300 blackout.
I am considering buying a boltgun in blackout and when Savage comes out with one I probably will. Hard to beat the bullet selection in 308 projectiles and it doesn't use much powder per cartridge so a pound goes a long way.
I was told by a local retailer the other day that it should be available in bulk later in 2013 as well
