300 win mag good enough for...

LMAO! :D
Darwinism at its finest.

What Randall(s) do you have?

there has been but ONE "bear rifle"- the model 71 WINCHESTER in 348- look at the performance of that, and if yours exceeds that, then it IS MORE THAN ADEQUATE for bears- sure, there are rifles that you CAN USE on bear, and that's where most of the rifles lie, but the 71 was BUILT FOR THE JOB- it's modern day offspring is the 338 win mag-NOT A 30 CALIBER ON SPEED- which is all a 30 cal magnum is- i don't care which one you like- they're ALL the same- sure , you've got more range and velocity, but you're still shoving a 30 caliber BULLET WEIGHT -but all this arguing is moot as the only places you're allowed to shoot GRIZZLIES IS B.C. AND UP NORTH- OR AK- in alberta, they just went PROTECTED- that means no shooting - unless self defense, and that means up close and personal- and that's 45/70 or 12 guage

Well I have to say a big bear within 100meter and moving fast in ones direction is good enough for up close and personal...other then that it's up to the law to prove otherwise. Which will be hard to do given them not being there at the time of the attack. :D

Real men kill bears with a single shot .22lr!

I kid, I kid. From what I am reading .300 winmag is good for everything in North America.

OK heres a new point of view if you want it buy it. Practice, practice, practice. I say this cause my first rifle was a .300wm bolt. I am a little guy
5'8" 170lbs. No bad flinch developed. At the same time it is OVER KILL. If you shoot for meat alot of it gets damaged. Ultimately it comes down to do you want it or not. As for recoil if it don't drag your boot heals back 6" it ain't worth shootin.;)

PS It is good for anything from gophers to polar bears. Or at least that's what I was told when I bought mine.:D

nobody has metioned jon ek either- which was actually a superior knife to the randall imo- but we're going back to the days of nam

What is so special about a Randall knife? Never heard of them before.
Buy a couple of dozen "quality" production knives at 300-400 a pop and then handle a real quality knife such as one of Boomer's Randalls and you will see what you are missing.
For a little bit more money you get a lot more knife.
A Randall is kind of every mans perfect knife...for about $500.00.

A Loveless is more like $5, 000.00 to start and $25,000.00 if you want a nice specimen. Think art work.
