I'd pick the 300 Winny, because it's a 700![]()
No arguing that..........

Hey Wonsky, what about the 30-378 WEATHERBY ? Hotter than the 300 RUM ?
Interesting that the 300 WEATHERBY came out in 1945 !!
As is mine Dustin.
Is yours a German ?
If the action is long enough just rechamber the Rem 700 LSS to 300 Rem Ultra Mag then sell off the Weatherby and pocket the difference + you now have the best 30 cal magnum available...
30-378 is a bit faster in the lighter bullet weights but once you get up to the 220 grain stuff the 300RUM takes the cake. Read the nosler and hornady loading manuals.

Plus throw a sendero 300 rum against a mark V 30-378 in a range shoot out and the sendero simply groups better. although my opinion is slightly biased its just comparing delicious apples to delicious oranges they are both good but people still have a preference.
Can't let this die guys.
I reload and even if I didn't,I'd still pick the WEATHERBY ( I don't forget my ammo at home and other manufacturers produce Weatherby ammo.)
The round has been around since 1945 and when I pull my MARK V DELUXE out of it's case at the range or in the field,it makes me feel GOOD !
The animal may not know the difference but I sure do !
I guess it's like driving a 350 HP Camaro or Corvette,,,they both go fast but I'd rather have the 'Vette in my garage...plus the 300 Wby.case holds more powder !
I'm a Weatherby fan... my go-to rifle is a Mark V Deluxe in .300 WBY
