going out to buy powder tomorrow, loading 180 gr bullets in a browning x bolt 300 WSM any suggestions on powder? any preference/info on the following 3 i'm thinking of buying?

H4350

IMR4350

reloader 17

if you were picking 2 which 2??

thanks again

Either of the 4350s will work well.

I am less than impressed with the RL17. I have tried in in my 300WSM, 30-06 and 270 Winchester. In the Short mag velocities were a bit higher than I could get with other powders but accuracy was dismal. I then tried it in the other two cartridges and velocity was no better than what I could get with IMR 4350 or Reloder 22 and again accuracy was poor.

I have great results with IMR 4350 with both 165 gr. and 180 gr. bullets. Also tried IMR 4831 it gave very acceptable results as well. IMO H-4350 and IMR 4350 are pretty close and so if you want a second comparison powder, I would only get one of the 4350"s.

had good results with Imr 4831. 4350 was good as well. I have a surplus of 4831 so it is what I am using. A friend is using RL15 with decent results. my 4831 handloads for his rifle are more accurate. he is in the process of changing over

You should have very good resuls with RL-19 and IMR4350 w/180 grain bullets.
Personally I'm gearing up to try my first 3 llbs of RL-17 but as of yet I know squat about what it's going to do out of a 24" bbl.

RL 19 works well for me and using the same OAL with less powder in RL 17 gave me about 100fps more with the same accuracy. I found that the rl 22 is too temp. sensitive to give consistent piont of impact when the summer comes around.

If I was going for 300WSM powder testing, I won't left Win760 out of the equation!
I've tried IMR 4350 & 4831 also, accuracy was there but velocity was not, in a Browning 23" barrel.
W760 gave me accuracy & velocity.
This spring, I've got some RL-17 to try, can't wait!

Seems you will probably be using these in temps from 20C to -20C I would be looking for a powder that isn't very temp sensitive. Something from the Hodgson extreme line maybe?
