Today I got my Browning Safari in 300H&H back from Jason Spencer @ Gunco, so it's braggin time with pics. :dancingbanana:

This gun began life with me as a .264Mag that had had the bbl messed up by bubba. I got it from Shooters Choice in Waterloo for $425. I found a new Browning Safari 300H&H bbl and longer bottom metal at WGP and had Bevan King open up the action and install the bbl.. Jason finished the metal, bedded the action and refinished the stock in record time. I couldn't be happier with the results overall.

Scope is an older B&L Balvar 1.5x6. It fits me and the rifle perfectly. Those old Balvars are great scopes and a good deal compared to the price of a Leupold.

No range report as of yet. I will probably wait till after hunting season to tinker with it. :)

Way to go Paul, that is beautiful! The only thing extra Browning could have done was the tooling polish job on the bolt/claw assembly. I have eagerly awaited these pics. What a gem!
Any idea on the load you are going to use?
P.S. I will pm my mailing addy so when it is sited in I will smack my whitetail with it, give her a proper break in.

Enjoy!

aint she a beauty? i like the diamond on the forestock, something a little different that stands out from the rest. Looks real sharp:) .

The only thing different I would want is a wood/stainless steel combo.

I have the exact same scope on my savage 110 30-06. Very versatile, good choice.

VERY NICE....that's a beauty...

just like the one I had in 308 Norma a few years back....,..another rifle I should have kept...

uhh.....maybe a dumb question...but what's a "keeper"?

A "keeper" is one you have WAAAAY too much money into that you won't even come close to recooping by selling.

Paul, is that bottom metal steel? Always thought they were pot metal powder coated, yours has a nice blued look to it. SWEET!
The bottom is all steel. I got it from WGP. Alot nicer that the original.

Or one that is unique, made to your specficications and you like WAAAAY too much to ever sell.

It's definitely a keeper. Very nice rifle.
