really, it all boils down to how much you have to compensate for ~.
Very true 'prosper',but when you compare to what I've been using in the past..........(6.5x55,303B,3030,300Savage,308,3006) Dang!!!
Ya can't go wrong with the .300,yeah its got moe recoil but most of the time
when it's the "moment of truth" you don't feel any............

well if you have to pick one id say 300wm for the simple reason of bullet veriaty out there when realoading there are so meny differnt .30 cal bullets to choose from wieghts and styles......

As opposed to the dearth of 7mm bullets?

The 7mm RM is THE MOST popular of all magnum rounds, and not terribly far behind the 30-06 and 270. You wont have a problem finding a huge selection of components

7mm RM vs. .300 WM

I'll never understand the need for these impossible debates. It's like "What's wetter, lake water or river water?"

Life is short and so too are hunting seasons. I love my .338 WM for what it does, my .300 WM for what IT does and I'm presently looking for a really good 7mm RM for what it can do!

I'm a hunter who enjoys rifles mostly because of their combination of function and form. I'm willing to bet the majority of folks on this forum do too.

So get with the program and buy both. You can always sell one of them if you decide you really prefer the other. I mean spending money on guns has to beat buying a dam'n lawnmower any day!

7mm or .300 mag

Dam'n stupid lawnmowers. Good thing is I paid $50 for a used but good--wait! there's no such thing as a GOOD lawnmower!

Looking for a Sako Deluxe 7mm RM.

Regards

It's the most popular cuz it's the smallest belted round commonly available for those guys who want a magnum, but are really wussies who shouldn't have one anyway.:D

Go 308 caliber. And don't be fooled by those short 30-06 Wanna-be magnums, like the WSM.
