One event we had a just for funteam match, we never picked our own teams, and the idea was to talk it up and see what we could learn and teach each other. It was a lot of fun, and with 3 or 4 other guys watching flags and making wind calls you sort of could get into each others heads. I was 3rd shooter, following F open guys and I was in my sucker for punishment stage with a .223 and 80 grain Bergers and about all the Varget I could get in the case. Since the idea was to yak it up; I’m bellying up for my sighters at 800 and asking the guys if they ever noticed that they shot high at that particular range and I was taking 1 1/2 MOA elevation off my dope from a rifle that I was shooting at home yesterday for my sighters. Never got a lot of comment on that so moved on to what I was going to start with for windage, and there were opinions offered mostly that it seemed like a lot, with the previous shooter quoting what he had dialled. I offered that that changed things at bit and I’d take a little more in that case and said I’d double his and add one. That got a couple chuckles and eyeball rolls but when I tickled that Jewel the target came back up V Bull I don’t know who was more surprised, me or them but the comment I remember was to the effect that he didn’t know how FTR guys ever managed to hit anything.Totally agree, see it all the time on the line!
Jeepers if the allowed other calibers/cartridges in TR My 223's would get turned into 6mmBR's in a New York minute!
