303 reloading

It's common for tightening sloppy chambered 303's ...less case head separations as the base is a couple on thou larger so less stretching.Load...... fire and neck size from then on........Harold

Redding, Mfr Part: 83154, Form & Trim - Series B 303 British

It is a standard die and not custom, at the time I ordered it no one made a shoulder bump die for the .303 British and I think no one does today. It is the only die and way to bump the shoulder and not touch the body and neck of the case. But it is a case forming die so it is it is closer fitting than just a shoulder bump die.

The idea of using a Form & Trim die as a Bump die is very interesting because as you say, it is closer fitting. I have to get that die - and I will.

I have never read or heard anywhere that such a thing was possible. When it comes to anything related to .303 British cartridge reloading, you are often at the cutting edge of technology, if I may say so.

Many thanks again.

Actually I'm retired with nothing to do and all day to do it, so I always look for new toys to play with.

If you think that's the cutting edge of technology, you should see me when the cat steps on the TV remote control and my "cutting edge ability" can't get the TV to turn back on.

Some guys have better case life using 30-40 Krag brass..........Harold

That is no longer correct, the reason they used 30-40 Krag brass was because the rims were thicker and this reduced headspace. And I have never seen any difference in base diameter between the two. Today the rims are the same thickness on the 30-40 and .303 British.
(trust me, been there done that)

The factory loaded Prvi Parizan case and the Greek HXP .303 British case below were both fired in the same enfield rifle. The Prvi case has thicker rims, larger base diameter and thicker case walls than any other brand of modern currently manufactured .303 case. Forget 30-40 Krag brass and buy Prvi Partizan .303 British cases.

Good to know biged.
The WW2 era DIZ brass is also very tough and well dimensioned, it goes on and on with an occasional annealing. 40 years and counting for me.
Prvi is well priced, will replace that tired DIZ with it.

I have both Prvi and IVI brass and I think the Prvi is actually better than the IVI. Most commercial 303 brass is pretty sad. The loaded Prvi is better too, much less variation from batch to batch than IVI or other 303, and it actually hits 2400 fps, unlike commercial loads that push 2100.
