To clarify the work that was done on our 305 Socom project:
1. supply mil spec fiberglass stock and glass bed to National Match spec.
2.supply new bolt, fit and headspace to 1.630"
3.complete diasembly of rifle (remove barrel from action) and cut down barrel to 18.5 ", crown and thread for flash hider(note this was indexed so that no washer was required.
4.supply AR15 (AR 10 not available) flash hider and ream for .30 cal
5.manufacture match grade op rod guide
6.polish trigger group and clean let off
7.fit gas cylinder and manufacture fibre washer
8.mil spec coating on entire rifle including refinishing stock
9.engraving of op rod
10.manufacture Socom cylinder gas lock (this required a CNC program and manufacture)
11.size front sight to national match spec
12.reassemble rifle
We feel that the $1599 price compares fairly against the Springfield Armory Socom that we sell for $2350. The SA Socom is restricted and our gun is mil spec while many of the SA parts are not. This project has been ongoing since the summer and frankly has consumed more energy and time than we considered. We still haven't received the complete shipment and all units are spoken for. Sorry I havent posted any pictures as I am not very computor savy. Thanx for the positive interest in this project.

By the way, my friend is very happy with his new #2 of 10 P&D Special M305 Socom. Good job team P&D Enterprise!

Just had a cancellation on one of our Socoms so if anyone is interested at $1599 give us a call. Still waiting for delivery on remainder of project. Warranty is by us for one year.

Just called P&D & they took my name for #10 of 10 ;)

I would love to take the credit for the work on these rifles, alas I can not.
Kevin did most of the work and the finishing, I was just the "Go get this" boy and idea bouncer offer for the project.

ok so as i understand it when the m305 is cut to 18.5 you lose 50fps/inch of barrel. so this must affect the maximum range of this rifle right? does anyone have an estimate of how much, if at all, it does become affected by this. and appx how much weight does that lose off the m305? i am more wondering if this is worthwhile because i want to lighten my 305 but i dont want to sacrifice range.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but where does one get a "navy" front sight and a vortex flash hider from here in the peoples republic of Kanada?

Does anyone know if the SA "Cluster Rail System" is available and will fit the M14/M14s/M305?

Thanks

I spoke to the guys at SA they will not sell the system by it self if you want one you'll need to send your rifle to them and have them install it.

socom barrel

I have a socom II take off barrel that I want to install on a norc I'm guessing everything will drop in I hope... I installed a 22" NM/SS on my socom II with no problems hope it will be the same with the socom barrel and norc reciver.

Hungry here: You should have no problems at all. The large threads are the same. Just that little Norc set screw on the right side of the barreled reciever is a PITa.
