308 barrel choices ...

I'd shot that barrel until it doesn't shoot any more, then give the rig to Rick to screw an RKS barrel onto.

My RKS is a great barrel on my 300Wm but I had to shoot the bag off it before it tightened up.

Now, the Rock Creek on my 308, that sucker is a great barrel. I would also highly recommend a Krieger.

I find it odd that nobody has mentioned H-S Precision 10x Match Grade stainless cut rifled barrels. I have two H-S Rifles, a HTR and STR in .308 and they both are one holers if I do my part and also clean very easily. You could take the most accurate rifle in the world and it would still shoot like #### if the nut behind the bolt is not up to the task. The US Marines uses H-S barrels on their rifles as well as others. I have a Mike Rock 22" 5R M-24 contour barrel on a Rem 700 and both the H-S guns and the Rem w/ the Rock outshoot me easily.

I agree Mike Rock barrels are excellent, but we should probably be looking at supporting Canadian barrel makers so they don't start closing up shop.............with all the U.S. Export permit restrictions regarding firearms parts, it would be stupid of us to neglect the Canadian Barrels makers and solely rely on U.S. made barrels.................you never know, one day they might say No more..............
