308 Match Bullets. Best bang for the buck?

Interesting to hear what people are shooting. I will take a look at some of the Berger bullets.

For me The "Go to " has been the 168 Horbady Match hpbt. They are about $95 for a 250 box, so quite reasonably priced. The other Bullet I like is the 155gr Lapua Scenar L. More money and powder but super flat and I can get 2850 fps out of my rifle.

I also have been using the 168bthp 250 packs. Definitely the cheapest match-style projectile available near me. I also quite like the Barnes 175 grain Match Burners. The 168's are coming out at 2860 from my 26" barrel.

The Speer Target Match bullets are better priced and shoot better than Match Kings in a few rifles I've tried. Don't overlook these.

I've been using 175 sierras in mine for the last 8 years. Tried them against scenars and VLD's in several weights and my gun just liked them the best. Not the highest BC around but they're great.

I bought 500-packs from mystic.

Never tried the speer OTM's, but the price looks good.

... I guess the Hornady marketing is working on me .... I now want to try the new A-tip bullets from them ... something in the .308" 230 grain range. I wonder if the 30-06 1:10 rifle twist can stabilize it. Hornady says ... they recommend 1:9 ... at high elevation 1:10 you can get away with.
