I can get MOA out of my wife's '06, which is a 6 pound hunting rifle. I can get .25 MOA and tighter out of my .308 which is a 20 pound target rifle. Who cares, in the field with a hunting rifle you cannot make use out of the difference. You can however make use out of the '06's flatter trajectory with heavier bullets. If the .308 has any advantage, it is that the rifle can be made shorter and lighter. The '06 wins if you need .30 caliber bullets heavier than 165 grains.
