for some reason .222 and .243 are the most popular varminting calibers with most of the people i know here in Ontario. either there was some huge marketing push on these guns in the 70s or its just dumb luck
having seen both in action countless times, the .243 gives far more... erm.. spectacular kills. stepping down from that to a .222 is going to be a little disappointing for you in terms of impact.
