.32 Winchester Special

The 32 Special is a good cartridge. From what I can tell, pre WWII the 32's (Winchester, Remington, and Rimfire) were more common than the 30's.

A 1950's Winchester 94 32 Special is the most accurate open sighted rifle I've ever shot and works just fine on Elk.

I have a Winchester Model 64 in .32 Special. It's 24" barrel makes a big difference over the standard 20" carbine. Cool rifle and definitely more power than a .30 WCF. I do reload for it. Bullets, brass and dies were all very easy to access.

Hey, Darryl,

I am looking for a crimp die for the .32 ws, and also if you have any suggestions on best place to get brass and bullets

much appreciated..

I bought a Win Model 94 in 32 Special, in 1976. I still have it, and take it into the close cover every now and then. It now has a Williams aperture sight on it...my eyes aren't as good as they used to be, but a deer within 100 yards or so is in trouble. I hand load so ammunition isn't a problem.

I bought a Win. 32 Special as my first center fire rifle , and still have it . Fortunately I stocked up on ammo , although the ammo seems to come back into production every 3 or 4 years , and then repeats the cycle .

Run 30-30 brass through a 32 Special die. Its everywhere.

Course if you don't reload...might be a good time to start.
