Agreed, and oddly enough after posting earlier about shortening up a 9.3X62, called and spoke with Anthony this morning. There is another 9.3X57 with a 20" barrel heading this way, not drilled and tapped, going to stay that way, and will be the light handy rig I had posted about, only 50 fps slower. :)

This makes three of us in this thread who went this route :) I am still waiting to get my husqvarna 9.3x57 back from the gunsmith who is putting on a new bolt handle. Mine has a 20.5 inch barrel and it is very handy and well balanced.

I'm just saying that there's lot of choices for both, so to choose one over the other based on bullet selection is moot.

Both are vg calibers, so in reality choose what you like.

I think it would depend on the game hunted.

200gr Interlocks for deer for deer would work fine. 250gr Speers for your bears and moose. 225gr TSX if you feel like spending more on bullets.

I've received some load info and suggestions from a few guys on site and a couple of other sources. Got a couple of projects in the works at present but one of the next items on the list are 358NM loads.
Another 'goodie' I picked up from Ted with the Husqvarna is a box of no longer available Hornady 275gr RN. Saving them.;) They'd be good for a Yukon hunt.

275 Hornady RN ?? You won't believe this..... My 35 Whelen, a Remington Mod. 30 was originally built to shoot just that same bullet and since the late '60s that was all it ever shot. I used up my last ones a couple years ago and I still scour the gun shows in search of them... awesome bullet....

In addition, just prior to getting my first 358NM from Ted and in preparation for that day, I picked up seven boxes on Norma factory loads from lefty 338-06. Then, from Henry at Budget, I picked up a sizeable quantity of new Norma unprimed brass. All that will come in handy for the now two 358NM's I have.
