I have a Sako TRG-S in 338 Lapua with Optolock rings and bases, Karsten cheek piece and a custom muzzle brake. It's topped off with a Sightron 8-32x56 SIII. It comfortably shoots sub half moa out to 800 yards which is a far as I have been able to set up as yet. I love the rifle but am not impressed with the stock so I have been researching replacement stocks.
The only options I can find are McMillan (A5) and Manners (MC4a) because they are the only people that can supply the bottom metal which is part of the factory stock. Both stocks, in the configuration I want will cost $1000 'ish when the dust settles.
My dilemma is, do I get the stock or do I sell the Sako, add the $1000 and buy a new Savage 110BA? I have shot the Savage and was favorably impressed but, I also like the Sako and cannot afford both.
If you guys want to pitch in with suggestions and opinions it might help me decide.
Incidentally, I figure the Sako with brake, cheek piece, mounts and rings is worth around $1300; Is that a reasonable expectation?
