34 mm rings..who's got them.

I prefer to use Vortex/Seekins rings. They are just as strong as Badger or Mark4 without the ugly nut to snag on stuff. edit; Available at prairieguntrader in Avonlea Sk.

For inexpensive but adequate 34mm rings, Le Baron show some Millets low and medium at 70.00 a set.... JP.

What exactly are you getting at? (serious question) Do you mean to say that the rings are sloppy/loose on the rail, or that they do not hold the scope snug enough? What else (about the rings) could be causing your POI to deviate from you POI from shot to shot? You guys are pros, I am a noob. Isn't this pretty basic? If rings are not secure to the rail and if they do not hold the scope tight, what use are they? Do companies really sell rings behave in this manner???

I am no pro but thanks for the compliment. Although rare it is possible for scopes to slip in the rings under recoil (not holding the scope tight enough). I am not sure why it happened with my scope (oversized rings maybe) but if things are out by a tiny amount it can occur. I would highly doubt any company would sell rings that do this on purpose but when mass producing anything mistakes can occur. I actually think this issue is a more common phenomenon today. In the past scopes were lighter and smaller but today most high quality "tactical" scopes weigh a good amount (looking at you NF).

The solution to this is not cranking down the screws really tight, this could pinch the tube and damage the internals.

Whereever possible I try to use TPS rings. Most of my 30mm and 34mm scopes are so housed and I consider TPS to be the best balance between price and quality. I've also used Badger Ord ( excellent but $$$$), NF ( excellent but $$$$ ), Vortex ( excellent and more reasonable $$$) and Burris Signature Zee ( Very Good and reasonable $$ ). I do have a set of Millet Tactical in 34mm which so far appear to be very nice and they were cheaper than the others. Finally I have some Burris Extreme Tactical which also seem fine.

Fair enough. I hope this is rare. I hope what folks are spending the extra dollars on are features and not core functionality. Some of you seem to have a strong preference for one type of ring over another. I hope this is because of the features you appreciate, asthetics, or even some emotional attachment, rather than other rings "not working" as they should.

Dave's Surplus and Tactical has Vortex 34mm low rings. Grab a 34mm Vortex bubble level too! I like Vortex's bubble levels over all others.

Yes I think Im going with Voretx, Prairie Guntraders only has medium, I need .92 low rings. I know ATRS has a set as does OST.

Cheers!!
