Just tried to place an order, and lo and behold, it's no longer $97, now it's $129. That, plus the exchange, plus their *crazy* shipping price... Update: product is much nicer now!

Well it sucks, but I'm still going to buy one. They're nice and nobody else is making them so that's now what they sell for.
 
I'm having issues just getting stuff from them...they cancelled my last order which was 2 stocks ($300+ order) due to "over demand" of those items....wtf?
They also emailed me saying due to this inconvenience, they would give me free shipping on my next order. So I placed the order, made reference to the email, and not a peep for a month. No charges, no your item is processing, nothing.
 
Well that is awful.

Compared to other options the price is still low in some cases I guess. I was planning on ordering a tikka stock with an add on recoil pad from them might just have to get a factory laminate stock.
 
I JUST looked at Boyd's website, and a Tikka T3 and Weatherby Mark V stocks are still only $92....

Maybe SOME stocks are $129, but certainly not all of them.
 
Just checked the price for a Ruger Hawkeye $129, darn, that was probably going to be my next purchase, probably still will be as I think they are the only game in town.
 
my last stock from body's was 156 shipped, so now that'll be closer/slightly over 200....unfortunately it likely won't stop me from buying another at some point, just due to the lack of alternative options out there, it is what it is
 
I am wondering if Boyd's is making this move so they can set up some distributors with a price point that will allow them to make a profit. In other words the old price for bulk buyers and the new for individual consumers.

Appreciate the shout out... yes, recent customers are saving money vs going direct. BUT it might take a bit longer to get the stock

So there is the compromise.... if adding custom features, there are significant savings.

Tikka Stocks have gone up for me as well.

Jsquig and Grizzly you are correct, almost like they know they are the only laminate shop in town so to speak...

Jerry how do we arrange to order stocks with custom features through mystic?

Perhaps not, but now options that are far better are only *somewhat* more expensive, not *way* more expensive.

Plus, a Boyd's stock was a total no-brainer, when the dollar was at par, and the stock was $97. Now it's a lot easier to decide not to go ahead.
