See, that's what you get for having a Whelen. If you had a 9.3x62 you'd take it with you all the time, like I do.

At least you can use the 9.3 for buffalo in some places.

The Whelen is just fine, just hasn't got the "cool" that some calibers have. 7x57 = cool (7mm-08=yawn), 9.3x62=cool (35 Whelen=yawn), 300 H&H=cool (300 Win Mag=yawn).

Anything with a "x" in it is HUGELY GHEY....

New cal to me and looking for some info ...

Was new to me once upon a time too - using it is like wearing comfy old shoes to me now. Reloading is most helpful for top hunting performance IMO. Factory ammo will work but using it is against my religion.

Brake was on it when it came to me. I debated removing it but then I got thinking about the math...
225 grain bullet + 2700 fps + 6.5 pound rifle = wake up call

If it was me I'd hacksaw off the brake and just wake up each time I lit er up. I like a short LOP, so I'd have a set of extension rings to move the scope ahead a tad as well, but that is one eye catching rifle AG. Congrats.

I'll admit I sometimes watch a bit of BDSM I find it interesting and fun to watch but oddly I don't get turned on from it

Forgot to say that I do have dreams (or is it nightmares) about a 458WM sometimes. I think maybe one day if I grow up I might like to get one. I commented on one you had in a pic you posted a while back Boomer. I too like smallish guns being quite small framed at ~5'6". I also like very light guns... The barrel on the little 350 there is 19" without the brake and 22 with it. I still debate taking it off and putting a thread potector on in its place

Love the .35's and have always been pleased with the Colonel's namesake cartridge. Plenty of punch for anything on hooves living here.
