See, that's what you get for having a Whelen. If you had a 9.3x62 you'd take it with you all the time, like I do.

The Whelen is just fine, just hasn't got the "cool" that some calibers have. 7x57 = cool (7mm-08=yawn), 9.3x62=cool (35 Whelen=yawn), 300 H&H=cool (300 Win Mag=yawn).
Anything with a "x" in it is HUGELY GHEY....
Sorry to tell you BUM!!!!
Was new to me once upon a time too - using it is like wearing comfy old shoes to me now. Reloading is most helpful for top hunting performance IMO. Factory ammo will work but using it is against my religion.New cal to me and looking for some info ...

My website references a few items on the 35 Whelen - http://35cal.com/articles.html
Well, it is a magnum after all!![]()
Brake was on it when it came to me. I debated removing it but then I got thinking about the math...
225 grain bullet + 2700 fps + 6.5 pound rifle = wake up call

That's only 35 ft-lbs of recoil! Quit your whining and join the soccer team!![]()

If it was me I'd hacksaw off the brake and just wake up each time I lit er up. I like a short LOP, so I'd have a set of extension rings to move the scope ahead a tad as well, but that is one eye catching rifle AG. Congrats.
I'll admit I sometimes watch a bit of BDSMI find it interesting and fun to watch but oddly I don't get turned on from it

Too bad I don't live in NS, I'd take you to the range and beat the sissy out of you!![]()
