Each requires a different bolt face. Which action and bolt face do you have?
.
Savage SA, bolt faces can be changed, as you probably know. And the Savage SA is actually what Remington would consider Medium length.

Why not check out a 358Winchester?Savage SA, bolt faces can be changed, as you probably know. And the Savage SA is actually what Remington would consider Medium length.

Or just beat them all and go with a 9.3x62........
The 358 is perfect for the action you have on hand. Brass is as easy and cheap as necking up 308W to 35cal. No mag box issues. It's like comparing a 308Win to a 30/06. Not much difference at all. It's a great chambering for a 20" lightweight rifle. Think 200s for deer and 250s for moose and bear. That exactly how I will use mine.Wouldn't the 350 rem mag have more oomph?
That's like saying the 30/06 is hands down better than the 308.
.

Consider this, however.....Nosler is now offering, or is set to offer (new for 2011), it's custom brass in .350 Rem Mag. A bit pricey at US$47 per 25, but I have mine ordered.

I'd take the 30/06 for obvious reasons, but to state that the 30/06 is "a much better killer" over the 308 is where I would disagree. The velocity advantage is there but the improvement really isn't that much for most hunting situations. If I felt I did need a significant improvement over the 308, I'd buy a 300Mag of some sort, not a 30/06.If you go back to the YT for caribou, plus moose and mtn grizzly, and you have a 30-06 Remington 700 BDL, and a 308 Remington 700 BDL side by each, and lots of brass/powder/bullets to choose from, which rifle will you grab?
I'd bring the 375CT, but do have a neat little faux TI in 358Win that would be a good alternative.he will come back and i hope.
now for the caliber that s a very hard question i wish i ll never have to answer ...!!!

I only used the 308 vs 30/06 scenario as I thought it would be a fair comparison to the 358Win vs 350RM (or 35Whelen) given similar case capacities.

OK Now the next question 338 federal or 350 mag?
