Just surfing the net and came across a Coonan and a desert eagle in 357 magnum. Would those be for both .38 and 357 like revolvers or just one?

Yupp...case length/overall length might to be played with a little bit with .38s

Smith and Wesson model 52 is MEGA accurate...its a semi auto that shoots TRUE .38Spl wadcutters, amazing gun

I would doubt very much that you would ever get a Desert Eagle to shoot 38 spc. in it unless you changed the springs and then you could not shoot 357 unless it was changed back. It also might not feed right either.

Is there a real 1911 in 38/357?

It doesn't get much more real then a Colt Gold Cup...

They are target guns made to shoot target loads.

That does not mean they are not "real" 1911s...

You want to shoot .38spl and .357 out of the same gun get a revolver...

Get the Ruger Blackhawk Convertible and you'll shoot 9mm/.38/.357.

Value cannot be beat!

I was looking into this a few months ago. The problem with a semi auto 357/38 it that you have to change springs out, now its not supposed to take long but have to carry extra springs around which in my mind defets the purpose. So I went with a revolver instead.

That takes 30 seconds....if you are speaking about a 1911 platform...

There are 1911 pistols that shoot .38 Special Wadcutter ammo, I have one.
I have not run across any 1911's that can fit a .357 Magnum cartridge in the magazine.
Let alone run through the action.

Even the .38 Special load, must have a flush seated, full wadcutter bullet.

A spring change is of not much use here.:)
