.357 mag and .38

Unique is a very old powder. It has been popular for a hundred years because it works so well for both mild and hot loads. It is a flake powder and does not meter well in some powder throwers. For this reason I suggest using Clays Universal or SR7625, which are similar speed, but meter well.

I've used Universal as well (I think I still have a 1lb kicking around) with good results too. Yeah, not fond of metering Unique in my old Lee powder measure, probably why I still have 1/2lb left in the bottle. I haven't tried it since I got a new RCBS Quick Change powder measure.

Interesting, I have an RCBS powder measure waiting for me at the same store that sold me the powder, I actually trust the guy behind the counter (so far) and he said it should measure pretty decent, that said, I would like a nice consitent charge (of course) and it's great I have no brand loyalty at this point :) I'll ask about the universal and the SR7625. As long as I can get LOTS of whatever I end up choosing, I'll be happy. I have the varget for my .223 loads, but ammo is so cheap I have just been collecting brass for now.
