357 what is your fav

I have only fired one, but I loved it. It was a Smith and Wesson 686. This was also the revolver I learned on while taking my RPAL course. A wonderful firearm.

Love my 586

Really enjoy my 686 and my uncle's Berretta Stampede. My brother's Blackhawk, not so much. For me personally, I didn't enjoy the feel of the GP100 compared to the 686.

My GP-100 has a 6in barrel without the full under lug and it points very well and has a nice smooth trigger pull. Love it.

However, S&W makes a solid product that supposedly has a better trigger (wouldn't know, haven't shot one in a few years).

My recommendation to to fondle a few different models before making a decision.

I have a sweet super mint 1985 stainless 6" Ruger Security Six. That thing is sweet and it looks awesome. It shoots great and is just a joy to shoot. When I graduate and have some money kicking around, I'm going to buy one of them 4.2" GP100s but for now I'm just plum happy with my Security Six.

The best .357 revolver is the Colt Python... Period

I think you mean best "finished" revolver in as far as attention to detail and the wonderful lustre blueing.
I agree with our other post however about the S&W 27.
Havng both and having shot both ALOT I have found the 27 to be slightly less finickyand a little more robust.
It is a toss up as to which I prefer best though.
The hard`part is finder either models these days.

I am quite happy with my 4" S&W 66 and my Ruger 2 3/4" Security Six.

I had a 4" 586 that was also a great gun.

The Colt Python in 2.5 and 4" are the best looking, but I prefer the S&W's for shooting and I think the 3.5" Model 27 is a beautiful gun.

The little brother of the Dirty Harry gun. The model 28 Highway Patrolman N frame in .357. But that's just because I have one and it's fun to "make my day" with it.

There's no losers out of any of the options listed. Look 'em over and decide if you like the dark look of blued steel or the shiney look of stainless. Smiths and Colts have the nicest stock triggers but you can kit up a Ruger or do some mods and it'll make them smooth like warm butter. A Wolff spring kit for whatever you get is a good investment. I've put them in all three S&W's I have and they were like adding the special ice cream to the desert.

I've got the S&W 27-2 and the Colt Python and could highly recommend either of those, beautiful guns and both very accurate. I also really like my 19-3 though and it may fit some people better than the 27-2. Try em all, they're not hard to acquire or resell if they aren't your thing.
