358 Norma Magnum

Ouch! :( Checked the model 1651 Husqvarna and model 68DL Schultz & Larsen I have, and while the wood quality isn't nicely figured and only has nice but not bright bluing. Both are decent in quality and on even quality terms compared to many other manufacturers. Couldn't find any evidence of being produced in European sweat shops. And, like some supposed 'American' products, they weren't actually made by J.A. Pan and Co. ;) :stirthepot2: :p

If you re-read the post, you'll see that I was being very, very tongue in cheek. I'd take a European gun over a Yank one 9 times out of 10, and the 358 will drop any critter that's walked the Earth in the last. 65 million years or so.

 No harm no foul, we're good. ;) Just doing a little button pushing ;) .

No problem. Sometimes, it's hard to tell who is being serious and who isn't. Given that the biggest critters I hunt nowadays are deer, I have no practical use for a 358 NM, but I would still give my left testicle for a well-made European rifle in that caliber (well, maybe not for a Zastava, but then, I don't use the testicles that much nowadays anyways...)

For the most part, same here. The last few years my main point of focus hunting has been with my Daughter and Son In Law, hunting Mule Deer on draw in Alberta. They've been my resident guides as well as hunting partners and a couple of years back, :d we had our Antelope hunt as well. It appears that my Granddaughters will be getting into the game and I look forward to getting the opportunity for a hunt with them. Kind of a three generation hunting party.
Back to the 358NM, I'm sure my field use of one will likely be, 'limited'. With that in mind, I 'need' two of that calibre like a hole in the head. Still, I enjoy taking the 'occupants' of my gun safe out every once in a while, even if it's only for a bit of paper punching at the range. HOPING to get out for Moose with my son in central BC and if that comes to be, 'a' 358NM will get the call :d .
