Not only are they available in Ak but they are selling much faster than Ruger expected.
Just left the SCI and custom gun guild shows and am off to SHOT tomorrow.
I received numerous queries and good evaluations at both show and according to Ruger they have already sold over 8000 of them - which is four times their original estimate for the first year.
Custom gunmaker D'Arcy Echols is even working on a 375 Ruger for Zambian PH Athol Frylink.
Wonder what all the nay-sayers about the 375 Ruger can complain about now?



f I would finally draw a Kodiak Brown Bear tag this year, I'd be picking one of the 375 Ruger's in a celebratory action. I believe that the stout compact package with some 270 grain TSX's loaded for a little comfort,would be an impressive tool! C'mon Spring Draws, daddy needs a new gun!

Comparison for size of the Ruger and my 602. Actually the 602 is a half inch longer, but it doesn't look like it in the pic for some reason;

If the middle bullet in the top pick is a 375RUM it looks like the Ruger to it's right is just a shortened version of the RUM.

Boomer I'm starting to think about shortening my 26" 375RUM by 4" and loading 350gr bullets to the same velocities that a Ruger can push a 300gr bullet. :cool:

That would definately stop the whining of the nay sayers and keep my 375RUM solidly in the Kings throne... :D

What? :confused: Offerings of .375 H&H in Remington 700 AWR, 700 KS, Browning A-bolt, CZ 550, and....Ruger #1, not to mention those of past offerings such as the M70 is hardly what I'd call "fairly limited". You want a light rifle in .375 Ruger....LMFHO :D, You gotta get past a 30-06 first buddy :runaway: Maybe a T3?....there you go.

If Ruger had copied my rifle, they would made a deal with McMillan instead of Hogue. Seriously though, that Hogue stock is ideal for my pal who works close to the water, and might need the rifle when his hands are wet. I think it will work very well for him. I'm anxious to see the VX-7 scope - it should be here this week.
 
Yeah, I'd still prefer the Macmillan....:)

I'm going to replace my stock, i dont' dig the Hogue as much. Great for bench work, though, really soaks up recoil!:)

Hey Gatehouse thanks for all your input. Im getting sick of waiting for my guns to sell so im going to just have to spend some saved money on my 375 ruger. Im going to buy it on wednesday. Ive been waiting a long time for a new 375 to come out. Something bigger then the 375 Winchester and similar to the H$H but a smaller case(heck every other caliber was doing it why not the 375). I almost but the Steyr scout in 376 Steyr but know the ruger has come out and im living only to shoot that rifle lol. oh ya Im buying the African.

Like you, I was looking or a 375 other than the H&H.. I didn't see the need for such a tapered case in this day an age of Extreme powders and good bolt action rifles.

I thought about building a 375 Weatherby, a 375-338 Taylor, etc.

I was never interested in the 375 RUM or 378 Weatherby because I felt that they were wasteful in powder consumption and recoil, for minimal gains.

I wanted it setup with a shorter barrel, iron sights, etc..

I was getting set to build one of the aforementioned cartridges- Already had a donor rifle- when the 375 Ruger was announced, so I waited for awhile.

Sure enough, it was exactly what I wanted...Hope you enjoy yours, it;s a great cartridge and the rifles are pretty nice, too.:)
