you guys have been feeding our local troll again.. Please stop and let this thread die. I know the resident troll will bump it a few times to try and continue/create arguments, but no need to keep feeding it.

Use the ignore function, we all should, this problem would be solved.

I have an idea:
This thread should be stickied and locked, then whenever a new one comes up about the 375 Ruger, a mod can just delete it so as to spare everyone the pain of having to read through dancing bananas and gloating. :)

Some people really enjoy the discussion. Those that don't should excercise thier right as an adult and not read the thread/commentary.

But we know they won't. ......;)

No rem bashing here...I really like that wooden/blued model you got there. People want to bash Remington's but ask the smiths on this sight what they mostly use for their custom builds.

Thank you, I like 'em and they have never let me down in 40 years of some fairly intense and diverse hunting.

Have you ever, while reading something, started to skim just a little too fast and gotten a distorted meaning out of it? I gotta slow down...I thought your post said "...in 40 years of some fairly intense divorcing." :)

No offence meant c-fbmi, I just couldn't resist it. I certainly don't mean to be one of those guys who can't post anything without sounding aggressively rude, as Gatehouse so correctly pointed out above.

Hey, he eventually had to be right about something...what's that saying about blind squirrels and acorns?

Wel JJ, there was some of that too..........LOL

According to rumors Ruger has dropped two chamberings in the current production Hawkeye rifles..... the 338 Win. Mag and the 9.3X62.
Apparently this is an effort to boost sales in the current production 375 Ruger Hawkeye because since the styling change they did are not as well received as the original Alaskan and African series were.

If Ruger started cranking out the Alaskan style again with the 20" barrel and I was satisfied that the poor QC issues I experienced were ironed out, I would buy one right away!!

More likely the. 9.3 wasn't very popular (it's only really popular with rifle aficionados in North America ) and the .338 wasn't popular in that format.

But they absolutely should have stuck with the Alaskan as is , except offer a laminated stock and maybe a different synthetic stock.

So the "New Thing" has usurped the crown you claim it wears by murdering its siblings/competitors? That behaviour is also observed in nature...it's practiced by Cuckoos. :)

Ruger No.1H are offered only in one caliber and it's not the 375 Ruger or 375 H&H :)

The original style of the Ruger Alaskan was for me the selling feature, especially after trying my Brother's and seeing firsthand how quickhandling it was.
The style compounded by the fact that I already owned several older Ruger 77 rifles that functioned perfectly sold me and when I eventually had issues with not one, but two I felt totally frustrated, but sometimes that's the way it is and in hindsight could happen with any brand.... could it not ??
