3rd Annual Driller's F Class Match & Sierra 300M ISSF - June 20-21, 2009

Sure , in fact if there is room and time in the grp/score in the morning, I may fire my 308, unscrew the barrel and screw on and fire the 6-250, again in the grp/score stage

Keith,
This sounds like a match I would like to attend so put me down for it. Can I shoot two classesÉ Something strange is going on with my keyboard. that É is supposed to be a question mark.
Anyway, I`ll plan on it and would appreciate it if the wind can be slowed down for that weekend. I don`t need any challenges. Regards, Bill

Sounds good Bill, it would be great to have you out our way.
Yes you can shoot two classes, with say a FF (308/155) and the FO with say a 6BR.
$30 per class, FF & FO, so holding 2 entries would cost you $60 for the day.
You can NOT enter the SAME class twice, i.e., FF twice OR FO twice, but you can enter different classes. No different than going to Ottawa and entering say FO and T/R.

Or you could shoot say the 6BR and then switch your 308 in grp/scr then back to your 6BR for the final group in the morning, thus only occupying 1 entry position ($30) then you tell me what you are shooting in the Palma and you good with the original $30 payment, buying 1 shooting entry. Makes a bit of a hassle for me in stats but I can do it. Since you started in FO you would still be good for the FO Grp and Score Aggs and this could tell you what rifle is most capable of winning you something in the afternoon palma.

Anyone else interested in either of these option you MUST tell me as Bill has here.

Some of you will say that if not fair since if everyone did this there would only be 18 shooters and 1 shooter could win it all, money prize wise. Well, yes he could, but I can tell you from shooting multiple rifles in a match, you maybe actually putting yourself at a disadvantage, been there, done that, in LV & HV & HBR & VH in benchrest. Harder to keep to guns in tune too and they recoil differently.

Some will say it is not fair I turn them away and let someone enter twice in two separate classes, well, you had your chance to enter, same as Bill did, you just waited too long, so ENTER NOW!

Note: ALL DOOR PRIZES are in on the 50/50 draw, so if you want more chances than Bill, buy more 50/50 tickets than Bill does!

If you want a T-Bone or tenderloin steak for the BBQ, bring it yourself LOL. We have a 2 or 3 BBQ's out at the range so grill space should not be too much of a problem. There is a fridge and stove too so thing will not go bad out there.

Magnium caliber's ARE allowed up to 338 Lapua Mag. (No 50 Cal's at this time). Triggers have to be SAFE (does not fire on close 3 times tested on empty chamber), NO specific trigger weight for Fclass but they must be safe. See post #20 for the definition of safe triggers. TR trigger in the ISSF/ISU are as per their rules.

Hey Bill, try a different place on the keyboard. Mine move all over the place. I can never find B.

be good to see you there.

Bill, it is a hassle, but you can use ...

Start->Run and enter charmap

It will open a window were you can select the font and copy the character you want to use that does not work on your keyboard, or you get stuff like this ℅ √ § Ψ β © ® etc
or accents like in French like this À Ê Ã Ô È É

My keyboard only does this from time to time. Right now the ? is working fine?? I don't mind if it goes on being a mystery to me!
By the way, I would only enter two classes if the match was not full. I would rather see another shooter than myself twice! Many people don't even want to see me once! Regards, Bill.

Bill, in all likelihood it will not be full. I'm guessing maybe 2 more newbies, 2 to 4 locals, maybe 3-4 more out of prov's tops, so 12 more guys. That would still leave 1 spot open and I'm guessing maybe 2 of the registered guys may back out yet due to work loads, so plan on shooting both classes my friend, bring lots of ammo Bill, there is gophers in the pasture south and east of the clubhouse too :)

I should also mention that I had a NEW sponsor email me with a donation. I was very surprised since I did not solicit this company. I looked at his web site and this bal pgm has the Wind Clock in it! My hat is off to this guy for stepping up and offering a donation! Thank you very much! This is a very good diagram to have on the line with you when the wind swings!

CampPerryWindClock.jpg

This one is for a 223 with a 80g based on the velocity

600copy.jpg

Mine.. at 600 and 800, same program, printed as PDFs then joined in Photoshop for my book

Looking forward to seeing the new version he said he would send out to me in the new year. V17 looked impressive so V19 should be even better.

PLUS ALL DOOR PRIZES are now on the 50/50 draw, making a really nice pot for the winners!
Bring an extra $20 or more along with you so you can get your fair share of the 50/50 tickets!

Here's some quick math, 24 guys, each buying $20 in 50/50 tickets, makes a pot of $480, so $120 for the FF winner of the Mini Palma and $120 for the FO winner (plus the the clubs money card for the 1st place win, worth another $25 for a total of $145 for a first place Mini Palma Agg Win per class) and an extra $240 for the club! The club will have close to $1000 in expenses on Saturday, paying for the target pullers, money cards, medals, engraving and food. I figure the club will make approx $50 when it is all said and done, but this in not our intent, to make money. We only want to bring us FClass closer together, have a little fun (as the class was oringinally called FUN CLASS) and offer a first rate run match for you.

Payouts for placing in the aggs (GrpAgg, ScoreAgg in the morning and the Palma Agg in the afternoon PER CLASS) I have calc'd as follows;
1st - $25
2nd - $20
3rd - $15
4th - $10
5th - $5

At the end of the day, the guy with the most 5s (not counting the 50/50 money) wins LOL

See ya all there!

Only 5 openings left guys...

Here's a taste of Nokomis winds, from Vic Day 2008, Paul G. at 300M. Eddie to Paul left.
Notice the camera man gets taken out by a weed...
June 20th 2009 should be a little less in wind velocity but add some rain to it LMAO

Mutt,

Actually Paul and Eddie (the two in the video you can see) shoot some bow and pointy stick at lunch some days out there too. Paul and Eddie are really good with a pointy stick and neither is a slouch with a firestick either.

Everyone:
Some of the very best F Class shooters in western Canada will be at this match and would be a great place to see the equipment used and even learn a thing or two. It is the only match like it in Canada that I know of so "get er don" if you want in, email me and come on out, even just to watch.

Note: You can get a SPRA membership at the match, $50 for the year. We will have approximately 14 new non PRA shooters and some of the regular shooters to Nokomis may not have their membership yet by then either, we will definitely have somebody on site that will sell you and the other 13+ memberships then. The SPRA membership allows you to enter any PRA match (apra, spra, mpra, bcra, ora, etc). PRA stands for Provincial Rifle Assoc., so you are covered anywhere in Canada to my knowledge. For Ottawa/Cannought's CFRC, you need another one from the DCRA.

Above is a 500 yd target at 800 yds on a grid plot sheet to give you an idea of the targets used. The V bull is the dotted line and is a hair over 1/2 moa, the 5 ring is a hair over 1 moa, the black rings go out to the 3 or the aiming mark of 39" on the 500 yd DCRA target, the 2 ring is in white. Each grid square is a true minute. I have a set of plot sheets for all competitors, 300M at 600, 500 yd @ 800 and the 500 yds at 1000. It will help you find the center after your sighter, in minutes. Yes it is looks like a big target board, 10 moa by 6+ moa, but trust me, you will need it if the winds are bad. The circles on the right side and bottom are for your wind and elevation setting you put on your rifle. It is up to you if you want to use the plot sheet, but good notes come in handy. You can draw a pic of the flag your shooting on, or the direction of the wind, or whatever in the Call if you want, just don't get buried in paperwork, your there to shot and have fun too :)

You will have a solid 600 yds zero after the morning's group/score portion, but you should know your come-ups for 800 and 1000 for the afternoon. If you do not, use your loads actual velocity (SPRA has a chorny I will setup at the 600 yd bench) and BC of your bullet in any ballistics program and it should get you on paper.

New comers note, most of you will be on relays with other newbies and I will pair you up with another newbie plus one of the experienced shooters to lay and help you two newbies get on paper at 800 and 1000 yds, during your 2 sighter's each. Your on your own for the 15 for record at those distances. We shot pairs in the mini-palma, two shooters to a target, you each will be scoring the other guys shots. We will explain it all before the match, after the safety meeting.

Yes if you want to use two rifles put them both on your entry form. This helps me put you in the right class and then I can also squad like classes together for the relay and lane drawings. Once I have this info all figured out, I will update Post #10 with your relay number and lane number for the morning grp/score portion. I will re-squad everyone for the Mini-Palma at noon on the 20th for the pairs shooting portion using the score cards.
