as far as i know, it's only Ruger who happens to have one that straddles both markets. in canada, IDPA allows up to 6" since most people don't have 12.6 status, and in the USA IDPA allows up to 4.2" so in the USA, you can use a snub-nose S&W easily yet it's 12.6'd here. and S&W doesn't care about canada, and IDPA canada allows 6", so really no incentive for S&W to make a 4.2" - their snubs are OK in the usa and their 6" are ok here.
ruger is just that much more accommodating and "smart" - they make a model which fits both markets with minimal fuss. AFAIK neither S&W nor Taurus do that, and most of the other revolvers i've seen are based on the Colt SAA so they're SA and long.
