Wonder how they define highway?

In BC, all paved roads are highways at least as far as the motor vehicle act is concerned.

Unless the CO seen him shoot the moose on a travelled road then there is no case.....this is absurd and should definitely be appealed 100% by the accused.....the CO based his charges off pure speculation by the sounds of things

Yes all he needs is a shifty lawyer, much like that Maurice bloke and he can try and get off. I am sure he admitted that he shot it off the road, much like the other bloke did. When I did my hunters ed the instructors just made it simple. Do not shoot on or near a road. Better safe than sorry.

In Ontario, roads, trails, etc that are "subject to public vehicular access" are no shoot zones.

My thought on this matter is, just let the moose go for another day as it is not worth the trouble that could follow. Just hunt legally and safely at ALL times no matter where you hunt. I am in a wheelchair have a permit to shoot from a motorized vehicle as long as I am 10 Metres off the road way. Even though it is hard sometimes to get that far off the roadway I absolutely refuse to take the easy way out! After all people you are supposed to be able to enjoy the great outdoors, nature and all that God has blessed us with. It is not always about the hunting is it!
