I will Jim as I have no luck trying to post them here.
The 416 was built about 20+ years ago when Charles was attending Trinidad College.
Its on an '03 Springfield with his own custom wood, full octagon barrel with a full rib, folding leaf rear sight, and best of all shoots tiny groups with a 400 gr. bullet.
I now have four of his builds and all are accurate shooters.
At the time of his passing he had nearly completed a 500 Jeffery, hopefully I can acquire it as well.
 
Well.... Here it is. My new 404 Jeffery. A little different than most 404's you will ever see, but it turned out just how I wanted it! Rem 700 action and 22 inch barrel with no sights. Stock is a B&C Alaskan black/grey. Rifle is definitely a little lighter than planned. Im ok with heavy recoil. If it gets to be too much i'll make changes later. Scope is a Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36 I had lying around so I will use that for starters. Still waiting for my dies to arrive! Its killing me I cant shoot it yet!

Very nice. I like modern versions of classic chamberings. How much does it weight? It looks scary light!

Thank you! Havnt weighed it with the rings and scope yet but just the rifle is 7lbs 6oz! Im thinkin as is will be just over 8.5lbs. Im sure recoil will be heavy.

At that weight, recoil must be vicious! My 505 Gibbs was about 10 to 11 pounds. It was nice and heavy but quite controllable!
 
Nice rifle and excellent choice in chambering.

My friend had a McMillan stocked Remington 700 in .375 RUM. It weighted 8lbs on the nose with a Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36. He said it the recoil was very stout. I took his word for it.
 
I have a Rem 700 LSS in 375 Rum, the recoil was to much. Somewhat regret the muzzle break but the alternative was developing a flinch. Bought a identical rifle on the EE in 338 Rum, sold the barrel and have a 300 win mag on it. The laminate stock is rather heavy and i would not want to shoot the Rum and especially not a 404 with a lighter rifle.

Have not played with the 300 win mag, but think the oversized magnum action, and mag box, might lead to long projectiles being used. I also picked up a SS 300 rum barrel for it. We will see which i use to play.

I have a Rem M700 SS 338 RUM and YES the Recoil is very stout with 250 gr bullets AT 3000 FPS TOO ! :) rj
