in my neck of the woods, the local constabulary equipped the tactical unit and maybe a few others with .40 cal Paras. Now it seems they all have M&Ps. So, I'd guess the .40 ran well enough in their 1911s.
Maybe you are just limp wristed and a little whimpy.I am gratified that your 40's work for you Import! 155 & 165 grain weight 40 cal bullets are the best choices for 40S&W. Believe me when I report that 180 grain 40S&W rounds recoil just as much as 45acp.
In my discipline, PPC, virtually no one uses 40S&W. unless you are making "major" or want a hard hitting, hard recoiling round, most shooters go to .45acp or 9mm.
Perhaps you have been following the FBI's recent abandonment of the 40S&W to the 9mm.
Maybe you are just limp wristed and a little whimpy.
And no 155 165 are not the best. I use 200 and 185 as minor and makes the 9mm feel like a donkey kick.
I have also seen cops shoot and what the FBI does is irrelevant. They probably need the extra rounds since most service guns suck. Most engagement with police have massive amount of bullets fired. Most if will be misses.
Ever watch a RCMP shoot.*roll eyes*. Well they might as well arm them with watermelons and make all engagements with Barn walls.
Believe me when I report that 180 grain 40S&W rounds recoil just as much as 45acp.
