.41 Magnum options

So I figure I owe everyone a report on the Berrys 210 gr bullets.
Berrys are up front about the limits of plated bullets, and I don't need fire breathing loads.
My goal was to find a decent load that printed well on paper, and made 160-175pf or so.
I tried Hodgdons Clays and surplus SP-81. (SP-81 came via Higginsons and was sold as having a burning rate slightly faster than Clays Universal. My belief is it is actually ADI-AP70 and probably sourced from Hodgdons. ADI supply Hodgdons with several of thier pistol powders, including Clays Universal.

Loaded with 5.2 gr of Clays, the 210gr Berrys bullets were averaging 825 fps.
I won't publish the SP-81 data, but as a slower powder I did push it a bit harder.
Since .41 magnum dies (except I believe Redding) all have a roll crimp and plated bullets don't take a roll crimp, I used a minimal flair and adjusted the crimp to just barely return the mouth to flush. I also tried seating the bullets with the case mouth just barely past the start of the truncated cone, with a slight roll crimp.
In all test loads, the group sized seemed small and without flyers.
I'll be adding more to my next order.

Is the Sp-81 something that Higginsons is carying just not noted as yet or is it a long since gone one of?
