45 acp 250gr

Too long. You'll have mag fit and feeding issues due to the excessive OAL. 250 grain .45's are usually for a .45 Colt. However, Shooter's Choice is listing a Hornady, .452" HP/XTP. $28.95 per 100.

My Lee load chart that came with the dies has loads for bullets up to 260gr IIRC... and I doubt they're revolver only loads.

But I think you'll need to use/resize .454 bullets. I heven't seen .451 bullets that heavy...

250 gr .45ACP?

What's your anticipated use for such a heavy bullet for that ctg? Most .45 ACP target loads are 200 gr SWC or 230 gr RN lead bullets.

Both will feed from the magazines of a 1911 and still meet OAL requirements.

I could see a 250 grain load in .45ACP cases for shooting in a wheelgun chambered to take the .45ACP in moon clips, though.

M.T. Chambers sells a large variety of 250gr. bullets suitable for the .45 Auto, however i would be concerned that the point of impact may be such that the sights won't have enough travel to compensate for it.

I had cast some 255 grain SWC 45 Colt style bullets and sized them to 0.452" and never bought a 45 Colt revolver so I loaded them in 45 ACP cases and they shot fine in my 1911. Most bullets for 45 Colt are 0.452" now, only old revolvers take 0.454" bullets.
