45 acp enfields

Guys...sorry to say not doing these anymore, want to concentrate on tactical/precision. I can order in a few more kits and chamber some bbls as kits only if anyone wants them. Too much fiddling to get good extraction/ejection to make it worth doing complete rifles. It would require a several month wait before I get to them as I have a large backlog of other work.

I am sure they would be a few of us to put on a list, and pay a deposit, I am definitely interested!

That is a lovely piece of kit - between the barrel in the white, the lovely gloss finish on the stock, and the absence of iron sights, it looks very custom indeed, and apparently shoots like a house on fire.

Been holding off on showing mine - Lou's in the middle of his usual magic, and I was hoping to wait until it was done, but I just can't.

Boyd's nutmeg laminate stock. Doner was a butchered Fazakerly #4Mk 1 with a half inch lopped off the barrel, the peep sight filed into a rudimentary notch, and the stock chopped and sanded down to toothpick thickness. A real "bushmaster special". I'm hoping it shoots as well as yours, and look forward to trying it out!

Dan...I love that look. I have a modified extractor from ptmatuc that should fix the extraction/ejection problems I had with yours. Best part is I should not need the rifle back, just need to make a copy of the one he sent me and I can mail it to you.

Dan...I love that look.

It sure looks good! Makes mine look like a turd - dang, I'll have to spend MORE money and get a Boyd's stock!

On Dan's rifle, I shortened the forarm probably a couple of inches. Left as much as I could to balance between looking good and having enough space for one hand, and a sling swivel. Should be ok.

Now, be warned, the Boyd's stock looks great, but it does require lots of work. Bedding is one thing, then surface finishing is another; it's rough as-is, lots of smoothing required. But as I said, it's so nice I'll need to get me a set. Dang dang dang.

YAY!!!
Email sent.

the conversion adaptor uses common 1911 .45acp mags ,I found in the finished one I have the blue gi mag seems to work the best ,I tried wilson and the ones that came with my ruger and some issues with the last round and the gi with the hump on the follower no issues .That is my experience with the one I have ,Peter

I have been following this thread for awhile and I was wondering if it would be possible to use a sporterized No. 1 Mark III as a donor instead of a Mark IV. and if possible what would be required. I seem to recall their being some differences between the Mark III and Mark IV magazines. Could the magazine adapter be modified to work with a Mark III?

SPOILER ALERT!

I had started gathering all the parts for an Enfield conversion, but then one of these kits came along!

The positive feed action is great for reliably feeding, shooting and ejecting anything from 230gr round nose to 152gr SWC!!

Here's a couple pictures of my recently finished Brazilian mauser carbine 45acp conversion. The last picture is iron sights at 20m. (I have recently adjusted the sights)
