Glock won't change the design of the gun for liability reasons, I am 100% sure. If they did, they would have admitted there was a problem and then everyone would be saying: "we want new barrels in our guns" and Glock can't afford to do it.
Remember back in 1990 when they had the firing pin problem and it cost them a fortune to replace them all.
There's a problem with the slide too (except on the .45ACP and 10mm models with the chunkier slides), the serial number under the ejection port weakens the slide. I've seen several slides crack at that point.
How hard would it be to stamp the serial number nearer the muzzle? They won't do it because then everyone would ask why and they can't come up with an explanation that doesn't result in a recall.
I'm sure this is an ammo problem with a bad batch from CCI, I had it happen years ago with some .45 ACP. Their six sigma QC system failed to spot the fact that the cases had not had the extractor groove machined into them. Oops.
So anyway there are problems with the .45GAP? Oh dear, I was sooooooooooooo thinking of buying one. Not.
