Hello all,
Anyone interested in helping out to compile a list of .45 carbines available.

I don't know if this specific kit is available in Canada, but the Special Interest Arms Enfield conversion looks interesting.

The USC / UMP carbines exist but are basically unobtainium from what I have been reading.

What about ar-15 .45 conversion kits / details?

Any information on existing carbines/ or conversions is welcome.
My only criteria are that the hardware be obtainable in our market.
 
I've been interested in a .45 ACP Carbine for a long time, it would be a nice companion to my 1911.

Probably the easiest to obtain is the Beretta Storm in 45 ACP, the only problem is unlike the 9mm and .40 S&W version of the storm it is limited to 5 rounds (unless Beretta manufactures a 10 round pistol mag that I'm not aware of). The Storm's can be re-barreled making them probably the only unrestricted .45 ACP carbine.

Olympic Arms manufactures a .45 ACP AR-15, but I'm not sure if they are available in Canada.

I guess the other option is the Mec-Tech Conversion kit for the 1911, it attaches to a 1911 Frame and provides a platform for optics.
 
.45 Carbines are very rare these days.

I know the AR45 carbines have become a little more popular in the USA, with companies like MGI Military, Oly Arms etc... making them.

Maybe questar can bring in some MGI guns, they're about 13-1400 bucks US for a complete AR45...


I was a lucky SOB to get my USC carbine and be able to do the stock mods to it. I would love to find a factory 8" barrel but thats not a big deal.
 
Rhineland Arms was doing .45 ACP conversions of Enfields and Mausers before their R22 fiasco. Too bad they're tits up & lights out.
 
Maybe a place like Questar could try and get a bunch of CNC Guns AR45 lowers (10% or 80%) and finish them, and Oly Arms .45 barrels & bolts, and do the work to make some .45 AR15's...

The Oly Arms uppers are identical to AR15 uppers except for 2 holes drilled into it for the ejector spring. I even have the spec sheet laying around somewhere.....
 
I have an Oly Arms K40 S&W .40 10.5" carbine, love it, the only problem is getting mags....I believe RRA is making a .40 carbine this year, not sure about .45 though.

Wouldn't count on it. They've been promising that .40 for two years now.

Wish someone was bringing in more olympic stuff, I'd like to get my hands on one of their .45 uppers.
 
I am kind of liking the enfield conversion idea. Its no delisle carbine, but its close.
There must be a few more ar conversions / varients that handle .45 acp.

Apparently Rhineland Arms is back in business
and they promise to revive the .45ACP Enfield kits this coming fall.

Their website sez:
Enfield 45acp Conversion kits, The adapters will go back into production fall of 2009.
Mauser 45acp conversion kits, The adapters are going into production in fall of 2009.
Mauser 45 Winchester Magnum adapters are in stocks, but there are no barrels available.

even the venerable uzi was availabe in 45acp for a time- only 18 rounds in the 25 round mag, and semi-with the ridiclous long barrel , but when it came out, i tried fitting 45acp into an uzi mag- what happens it reverts to a single feed in the centre- all you need is a barrel and breechblock- the feedway is just fine- but this is a prohib as well
