.450 Marlin vs. 45/70 Gov't vs. .444 Marlin.

I own and reload for a .444 marlin. while i love it, don't get me wrong, i would not recommend it to anyone who dosen't cast thier own bullets. the bullet selection for reloading is limited and skint. for a normal reloader looking for a big bore i'd have to give it to the 45/70 hands down.
That being said the .444 is waaaay cooler! i cant wait to get my NOE 265 312 RD mold, the anticipation is killing me.

Camp cook: I have over 125 diff. bullets, but specialize in the big bores and black powder type bullets, from 300 gr. fp gc, and 330 gr Hollow pt. through 405gr. small flat, 420 lfn gc., 480gr. WFN gc, and up to 690 gr. for the longe range BPCRs. I have a beauty on the way, a 325gr. very wfn(.380" meplat) gas check, I will try to get samples out to regular .459" customers. .44 cal. and .432" bullets(for the .444 Marlin) are another specialty. Also .50 cal. 500gr. lfn gc for the S&W and .512" Lfn pb for the big Sharps, Lots of LBT designs and bullets for all the Sharps.

Ben, can you recommend a good bullet for my 1895M (450 Marlin)?
For best feeding, the 405gr small flat, it is a plain base but feeds best, flawless, to see a picture go to Saeco(Redding) website. The new 325gr. will be nice and a real hammer, without the headaches I get from shooting too many 480gr. WFN gc. I'm waiting on the mold and will have to wring it out first. The 420 LFN gc is kinda the new std. with me but it gives me headaches too, that's why I opted for the 325 next, when LBT gets it to me.

Would love to try those 420gr LFN GC bullets. Let me know when you might have some.
I was at the range with these bullets today, ben sizes them at .460 for me. I also happened to shoot some very tight groups (some within an inch) with them over a change of 13.8grs on Unique.
Dang it Ben, i may not have just bought $500 worth of casting gear had i known that!
If you have any i may hit you up for some heavies this fall should i draw a moose tag. right now the only mold i have is the NOE .432-265 GC RF ranch dog lube groove copy. Getting excited for my first pour.
What alloy do you use Ben?
