50-110 in an 86 making 6400ftlbs

It looks to be 3/8" or 1/2". He shoots clean thru so I'd guess a very mild steel. If a 500gr steel jacketed solid from my 458wm at 2150fps can't get thru 1/2" ar500 plate I'd bet everything I own that a 530gr hardcast bullet isn't getting thru it either

He's also claiming 6400ftlbs energy so that translate to about 2350fps for a 530gr bullet
If true that's impressive
I'm not really familiar with 1886 lever actions or how much pressure they can take

I only managed to dent what I believe is just a crappy mild steel plate at our range with a 540gr (not hard)cast powder coated bullet at similar velocities to your load from my 50-140.

It smacked it really hard, but definitely didn't penetrate it. Maybe I should find some tougher projectiles and buy a cheap AR-500 target and try again with a heavier load.

Here is the video from the first post.

Like others, I don't buy that its a quality AR500 plate. No way hes getting the kind of velocity needed to defeat real AR500 from a 50cal lever gun.
