I have found a new place to shoot that will allow me to shoot at 600 and finally 660 yards (600m). Should be fun to see if the little 55's hit good or just drop out of the sky:D

Well I am starting to see some consistently missed shots at this range as things are becoming very dependent on the wind. Still I am pleased with the AE55's performance and am achieving around a 70% hit rate on average at this range.
Here is the best group of the day, a 5 shot that I found rather odd, normally my groups shoot into a rounded pattern not a perfectly straight line so wtf?

The barrel was getting warm from shooting up a steel gong lower down the hill at 400 yards so it could be stringing, I let the rifle cool and things went back to normal after that. Still weird that they all went perfectly in line vertically.

5th round in right leg. Will try at 700 yards next time out.

I've had really good luck with that ammo. I was kind of surprised considering how cheap it is and the slight tarnish present on most of the ammo.

It outperforms Winchester and AE (red box) 55 and 62 grain bulk ammo by a wide margin, at least in my experience. The AR.223 stuff shoots about 2 MOA while Winchester and AE are closer to 4 or 5.

Thanks guys. I can't say enough good things about the Acog I'm using. The BDC has been spot on at every distance (300,400,500).
I found out my model actually is calibrated for 55's from a 20" barrel, perfect for my setup.
Lots of eye relief too, very quick to aim.

Nice work . I have had some good results with that ammo as well out to 300 yards. I really want to see how the 75 gr tap shoots out that far with my black special. guess i need to spend some time looking for a spot like u have found

Great shooting at these distances J996.

The shooter/rifle/optic combo is definitely coming together at this maximum service rifle range. This would be a menace to any movement on a Battlefield;)

Have you tried the green tips at that range? Have you tried the Federal XM193F ball ammo in your Swiss? I've noticed a velocity increase average of around 90-100 fps over bulk .223 55gr FMJ's, and similar accuracy to go with it in an ChinCom AR .

Thanks;) I have to do some ammo shopping soon to stock up and will look for some M193. I've used it in the past and it is great stuff!
