500 S & W x Frame

Mr Silverback.... lockstock is where I got my components, they ship fast, are good to deal with, and I found their prices very very fair. I told them at the gunshop what I paid for the half inchers and was advised that this was pretty close to their wholesale price.

The local gunshop dudes aren't too upset with me for cheating on them with an american mail order company because I always come back home and I try to put the card on the counter at least once a month.

The latest HODGDON 2007 RELOADING MANUAL is presently on some magazine racks and it has among other things ,pistol reloading for 454 CASULL, 460S&W MAG.,480 RUGER and 9 different bullet weights for 500 S&W MAG.

Hi everbody, I haven't shot one , but I was in
Phoenix gun shop and range in Edmonton
the other day and they have one for a range
gun, But didn't have time to try it-$5.oo a pop.

i shot the .500 AE desert eagle the other day and for what its hyped up to be is really quite reasonable. i am about 6 1 and 140 lbs and wasnt uncomfortable shooting it

I have one and I do not shoot much more than 20 to 40 hot loads at a time but it has never come close to catching me between the eyes the compensator is very effective - I would not shoot it without it. When I want to shoot it all day I load up some nice target loads (power of a 44mag but feels like a 357 in that frame).

The major factor may be the semi auto slide action of the Desert Eagle absorbing some of the recoil. The .500 S&W is a little more potent with little other than your grip to to control the recoil.

I have finally fired my x frame and it was not nearly as bad as I thought. I got a pm telling me that the recoil was pretty much straight back which was absolutely true. It does have quite a bit more recoil than my 50 ae desert eagle but the compensator is really very effective as has been previously stated. We brought fifty rounds and shot them all. I have to admit though that I find this gun more pleasant to shoot than the eagle since the recoil path of the eagle really brings up the muzzle and twists the gun and it is hard to stay on target.

The muzzle blast is horrific, which I mean as a good thing!!

The other thing that I found most noticible is the power on contact. the metal goats, sheep and chickens were slapped down, not pushed down like they would be with my 44 mag. I was amazed at how much more it brings to the target...

I didn't shoot for accuracy on paper since I was more just seeing what it would do to stuff but my first impressions are that it is really accurate too, it holds muzzle heavy which I guess is obvious to anyone that's ever held one but that usually brings in the groups for me. It didn't miss anything I fired it at. My two friends on the other hand were frightened of it and so when the hammer dropped on a blank you could see the muzzle drop three inches on their flinch. They didn't hit too much....although they knocked the #### out of a snowbank, made a loud noise and still giggled like schoolgirls.

trigger pull with the hammer cocked is perfect, very light, crisp.

Bottom line is I'm really happy with it, now I am going to go and load up my brass and head out for more carnage.
