.50bmg

Would anyone be willing to take my wife in trade for a .50? She is gently used with a low round count.

...possibly... got any pictures? willing to cook and clean and do laundry? the wife and I keep joking about bringing another wife on and if it only costs me a .50 (you didn't specify model) so it might be worth a $3k Canstar :)

Put 55rds throught the LRT-3 today.

Very smooth shooting gun! I couldn't have got through half that with my Steyr HS.50 without feeling a little beat up.
Hand loads of 750gr. A-max's were grouping fairly tight at 920m although it was a fairly mild load. The factory Hornady loaded ammo had noticeably more velocity (over 1 mil at 920m) and noticeably more recoil. It was also noticably less accurate.

Now to figure out a solid load for the 650gr pulls I have in quantity. Figure I can load for about $2.30 per round, if I can get them to shoot 1moa or so I'll be happy.

Yeah, great spot... private land all to ourselves. Can stretch out as far as you care to shoot. Goal this summer will be to have 0-1600 set up with plates.

920m from this set up was the big cut in the bank between the spotting scopes.

Yes it is a great place to shoot long, that cut in the bank is a 100 feet of vertical sand/dirt great for spotting shots. It should be a fun summer

Any update on the amax load Marcoman?

I had the windrunner out today, it really likes factory amax. I have lots of amax projectiles ready for assembly

With both 750gr A-max's and Lapua 750gr solids I'm at 215gr. With CCI primers and IVI Match brass. Velocity is ok but nothing to write home about (2600+) but the loads are shooting 3/4moa which is pretty decent considering there hasnt been much tweaking taking place. I think with a little bit of further development an honest 1/2moa load can be developed.

Had it out to 1640m a couple weeks ago. 18mil elevation IIRC. A few hits were made .... by my shooting partners unfortunately ;).
But it was a lot of fun. Noticed when I got home that the scope had crept a 1/4" in its mount from recoil. I'll have re-mount it after a thorough cleaning/degreasing.

On .50's torque you main cross bolts 80 inch pounds make sure its pushed to the front of the rail interface while torqued. Also ensure your rings are clean before mounting scope inturn make sure scope tube is clean no grease oil dust. Ensure good quality rings are used no lapping required so you get lots of surface contact on the ring scope tube interface.

My LRT-3 with 215 gr under 750 gr AMAX with Match brass CCI 35s is hovering around 1/2 MOA using Lee dies and keeping run out in the .0015"-.0035" run out. Also annealing every firing keep long dwell times on all sizing operations.

Hi All,

Anyone knows if the new 1 600 m (yards?) range is open in Alberta ?

Very impressive set-up. You are very lucky out there to have these super range.

Beauty rifle there marcoman. I'm in the process of having Ross & crew at PGW build me a 24" LRT in their cadex chassis with the sleeker brake as on your rifle. Sell the longer single shot I have from them. They build top quality gear indeed. ;)
