The Remington 541S is a great collectable if anyone knows about these there surprisingly accurate! To own one of these guess you can say your pretty darn lucky.. for its rare to see them come up for sale.
I know of of a local collector that’s bin collecting for his whole family which he achieved over 25 years of coarse price dictating the final sale, there’s bin a number over the years I’ve seen as well but they sure seem to get snatched up quickly even at horrendous prices.
I currently own one which I had sold to a local gn member fellow but! He sends me a healthy deposit and I never hear from again! It’s bin 5 months guess it’s safe to say he didn’t want it or something may have happened either way I think holding up a deal this long should be considered pretty stale.(if he’s reading this I would still hold up my end of the bargain)
I was going to post it again then another angle hits me..... I find another at a local shop but the story just gets better though, It was brought in on consignment only bin on the shelf a few days I was down picking up a few fishing supplies only to walk past there used display to just get a glance at the distinctive forehand marble stock stopping dead in my tracks decided I better just ONLY HAVE A LOOK....well that sealed the deal lol and the only reason I brought it home.. the rifle only ever shot 34 rounds in its life yaaaa! It’s true the wife bought it for her husband he shot this only 34 times since 74! the blueing is perfect wood has a few handling marks but pristine the deal came with a bag few tools and the original box of ammo I didn’t get the owners manual oh well.
It seriously showed its age gumed up barrel was absolutely disgusting but I enjoyed the five hours of cleaning which may allow me just to shoot it now. I own two not sure if this is a sign to keep them or sell one guess at this point I own two and enjoy them both for now.
541S Remingtons better little sporters.
Moral of the story.. never know what you’ll find when your not looking for it.
Just a share thanks.

I have owned several 541S and 541T rifles over the years. They are generally quite accurate, with the "S" and early "T" models the best.
At present I own an older S and an early T. The T is an amazing rifle, It has passed the ½" at 50 yard challenge on here, as has the S.

I have shot 10 shot groups at 100 meters as small as .57moa. Like any 22 rimfire, mine is ammunition "choosy" and prefers certain
offerings over others, sometimes by a wide margin. These are quality rifles, and the only complaint some have levelled at them is the
magazine, which is plastic, with metal ears. I, personally have had no issues with them. Dave.

I also have a c and a t. The c always looks so classic that I enjoy using it in the field. They don’t seem to come up as most are proud to own. With the use of new mags ( Rem 77) they now are even better. Having a pair of c’s is sure a pleasure and not a problem. Good luck and have fun. Let us know how it shoors

Threads are always better with pics so I'll add a few of mine, some people checking this out may not know what a 541s looks like. I have never even bothered to check into what year this one is, but I'm thinking the old man bought it in the mid 70's.

What have you found to be the most accurate of ammo available now for your rifles? I bought a new 10 round plastic mag for mine a few years ago that works well and I've never had a problem with the original mag.

Fantastic shape thanks for sharing I’m unable to display pics at this time guess I better fix that soon.
Thanks.

Best I’ve done was at fifty meters a three five shot groups averaged .180 CenterX seems like like a few different types.

It is a bit over priced IMO, but it is rather rare with the 20" barrel and looks to be in very nice condition. I've been watching that one for awhile now.

I asked around on Rimfire central, and was led to believe they did not come with a 20” barrel. That one has likely been shortened at some time in its life.

It's not the brand or name on the box that matters most. Ammo accuracy varies from lot to lot, and that's just as true with top tier .22LR match ammo as with entry level match ammo. In addition, two different rifles of the same make and model may not shoot the same lot of ammo similarly.

The one posted is has bin cut not worth a lot it’s all in the details.
Sadly he will never get his numbers
