585 NYATI.. The MOST Ignorant recoil I have felt.

There is no way I would shoot that. A while ago I tred to sight in a Ruger No.1 in 45-70 with a NECG rear sight. I was shooting 500 grain bullets loaded quite hot.
Standing, it wasn't too bad. Off the bench though, the first round drove the muzzle high which pinched me between the concrete bench, and the bottom corner of the orange hockey puck Ruger calls a recoil pad. It felt like Brock Lesnar gave me a titty-twister with a pair of vice grips.
I wussed out and went home after just one round.

Guns like the 585 were never meant to shoot off a bench, and as you found out some smaller guns are not very good at it either.

I can't shoot a box of 500 gr at 1900 from the bench with a 9 lb 45/70 either.

A friend owns a 460 Weatherby Rifle that is a bit light for the chambering.
It is equipped with a big honking muzzle brake, so is not too vicious.
My pal decided to shoot it sans the brake, "just to see" he said.
Traumatized him big time. Had to visit his doc, who opined that he had suffered
some sort of physical trauma to that shoulder.
My friend confessed, and the doc told him to lay off that unless he wanted to do
permanent injury to his shoulder.
Some of those big cannons will hurt a person.
Eagleye.
