Like most big kids, I got a new toy...a Mossberg 590 Special Purpose .
Where can I find the add-ons and cool toys for it in stock?
Like heat shield, sling, bayonet, forearm with the flashlight, pistol grip stock, stuff like that....you know, just because I NEED it.
I have checked a few sponsors here on CGN's websites, the ones I hit either do not show it, or are out of stock.....so point me in the right direction?
thanks!

Zahal.org, they have fab defense products, and free shipping on most things. Also check out www.fabsports.ca he has shotgun accessories too. Avoid the cheap stuff, the low price makes it tempting but in the long run its not worth it. For a replacement buttstock go with Mesa or Knoxx, tacord.com has Mesa stock adapters and other stuff.
For a 590, the buttstock on the Mesa LEO might be a little too high for some unless you have ghost ring sights or a red dot.

No. See here; http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51554 I tried to order two parts (mag extension and sling plate) from Wilson Combat awhile ago and it was turned back at the border. I was lucky to get my $ back.

I don't know WTF you're talking about. Brownells' service is excellent.

Obviously, the total wholesale value of parts deemed to be gun parts cannot exceed US$100. in a single order, and the manufacturer of the items in question must be registered with the U.S. DOS. Canada, as we all know, also restricts the importation of prohibited devices.

Anyone who can read can read the thread you hotlinked and thus know which of the manufacturers in Brownells' catalog are registered with State. If you order appropriately, meaning products from registered manufacturers and wholesale order totals under the $100. maximum, and meaning products that are not prohibited devices in this country, your products will come to you without any drama.

I ordered a 590 special purpose and put 200 bucks down...4 months now and no shotgun...seems like everything tactical is backordered.

I must admit I lucked out...this one was still in a box in the stock room and was not even out on the shelf.
They were not sure they even had one in stock at the time...just luck they did.

I wonder if the Gun Room in Kitchener might have one...they don't list Mossburg as a brand they carry though. They did have the 1100G3 Remington I wanted in stock though, last year.

Any sling with quick release swivels will do. Takes a standard M9 M16 bayonet. Marstar lists M9 bayonets at $89.00 each. Folding stocks are usually flimsy.

I was there yesterday, did not see one. they have an anniversary sale on right now.......

The parts I ordered were under $100. Have some class, I didn't quote you asking if you're an f-cking idiot kindly do the same. I interpret that link as all parts. Now maybe it really means the exemption is for major parts, just like it is for rifle components. But remember that the US has all together different laws regarding shotguns. There is also a supplier in BC but I cannot for the life of me remember who....

canada actually prohibits very little- things like full auto sears, certain ammo and types of knives are covered, but overall could be a lot worse.. The prohibitions are per US law. to export, you need an exporter's license, and for firerarm parts - non shotgun parts- the manufacturer must be currently registered with the US state department and not all are. shotgun parts come under US commerce dept and they have their own rules, The $100 limit only means an individual import permit issued by Canada - easy to get and free - is not required by the US.

somemthings they won't export to civiliansc- short barrels, flash hiders etc...

Heat Shield........what do you need a heat shield for?
Sling......One Shot Tactical
Bayonet..........trying to track one down myself
Flashlight Forend.........again with the
Pistol Grip Stock........Should have bought a Remy if you wanted to use a pistol grip; you lose all utility of the tang safety by putting a pistol grip stock on a Mossy

Oh yeah, I should add one of these, :D LOL

I have a 590 Mariner and a 590A1, the heavy barrel on the 590A1 doesn't heat up anywhere near as fast as the 590 Mariner, so would I worry about a heatshield for the 590A1? - not really - after about 100-150 rounds over a period of about an hour it was hot, not comfortable to touch and would burn you if you held onto it but the Mariner was painful to even brush your skin on after half that use - I imagine you would get a nasty burn if you left any skin in contact with the barrel for more than a second or two...

...IMO, for the regular barrel 590s a heatshield IS a good idea if you will be using it "heavily".

As for the safety with the pistol grip, I have no problem using the safety with either the pistol grip or the regular buttstock, I prefer using my thumb for the safety rather than my trigger finger.
