"I just need them to go bang" is true for all firearms, hence reliability testing. If it's just for range blasting then any shotgun will probably do, and I can see why it could be considered a waste of money by some. Perhaps many do purchase short barrel shotguns for what you stated but many have them for predator defence, especially when venturing out in very remote areas, as it's one of the most compact firearms you can legally have on you. In that situation you will want something that is proven in the elements.Sure, I guess, but for me these are home defence type shotguns and I just need them to go bang. It's hard to go wrong at 10 yards max with buckshot. If I'm being brutally honest, I see these things as a complete waste of money, but I understand that that's just my opinion, nothing more.
ESPECIALLY if it's for home defense, wouldn't you want to spend the extra bit of money for piece of mind that it actually will "go bang", when your life depends on it....? I don't follow your logic.Sure, I guess, but for me these are home defence type shotguns and I just need them to go bang. It's hard to go wrong at 10 yards max with buckshot. No worries on the 590 being the better platform for a short defence gun. Fer me own use I'd go with the 590A1 Class III as I much prefer a properSimple question, I know the Mossberg 590 shockwave is inherently better than the Canuck Defender, but is it $280 better? If we were talkng about a gun for ducks and game it wouldn't be a question, but we are talking about 14" shorties.
