6.5 CM Hunting Bullet

Lol about dgaf about hearing about other bullets. Not long ago on another forum a guy posted fbi gel test data from eldm 6mm the 6.5 147, then 168 308 at 308 velocity and 06 velocities and essentially MV testing of all and included finished weight, diameter, penetration depth etc. Here’s my interpretation of it. Also keep in mind the 147 eldm bc and the 5 advantages that compound to easily make it best choice at getting a free lunch every time you pull the trigger in terms and of not just hit probability but also maximum internal work for drt performance. See if you can see in data below. Keep in mind all eldm are excellent drt bullets but one of them has the highest sd to start by long shot yet finishes at similar penetration depth but lightest weight meaning it did more inside per unit of weight than the other studs. Do you see how it stands out even among top killers? Is drt and hit probability not your top goal? Also consider these basically MV impacts so what happens when distance increases? Less work available inside so do you want the one that does the most? Hmmm 😉

I am interested in your results - i have had a heck of a time getting the lrx to shoot (>2800) in my 260 and 6.5cm, and the Cutting Edge in same CM, so i assume its something i was doing 'cause they seem to shoot for everyone else... Although when i tried another combo using a bonded bullet, i stuck with it and never went back to playing with the mono's again. I have bonded accuracy and speed, so going to ride this wave until i run out of my stash of R26

Well I’m a bit bored so let’s see if we can liven things up a BIT 🤪

So I like to use different bullets sometimes to see the Results . 🤷‍♂️

Just gonna try a new bullet in my 6.5 CM deer hunting rifle and I am trying to decide which out of these 2 bullets I might use . The Hornady 130 CX or the Barnes 127 LRX . Both shoot equally “ Well “ from my UL Rifle at 2800 fps plus .
Also there is a chance on a moose in the same area as well as a Black bear too .

I have experienced Kills with a LRX bullet in a different cartridge and it worked Excellent but never killed any thing with a CX yet 🤷‍♂️

So what you 6.5 CM Guys think 🤔 😀

Don’t give a phuck hearing about other bullets or weights ! 🥸
Dropped a 800lb Kudo last year in Namibia with a 143gr Hornady ELDX. It didn't run more than 30m. @ 100m 3 shots in a dime. If that's not good enough results there's no helping you;)

I've worked up a load with the 127 LRX in my .260. It's definitely accurate and consistent. I haven’t had a chance to hunt with it yet, but let's get real--there's nothing in this province shy of a grizzly you couldn't take cleanly with it if you do your part and refrain from idiotic shots. Even a grizzly would be in serious trouble.

I've never played with another brand of mono bullets because the Barnes work so well and give excellent accuracy with minimal effort.

Just keep it simple.

6.5 Creedmoor sucks, use the 6.5 PRC with the 127gr LRX……no wait we’ve used Barnes for years we know they work try those stinking CX bullets.

Lindsays using the 127gr LRX in her 6.5 Creedmoor, she shot a pretty good group the other day so she’s pretty happy and all set for deer & elk.

going to try the 152gr LRX in my 280AI 😉

Ive had great luck with 30cal CX bullets, however just got a 6.5 this year and decided on 127lrx... they tick the boxes I have no 6.5cm experience so glad you posted this to read on. I don't think you can go wrong with either, and you have far more experience, only note I would say I still love and favor terminal ascent bullets. I look forward to seeing what guys post and their success.

with a 120-127-130 grain I will never with a 16" barrel lol. I got this rifle used as a coyote truck banger, I haven't had time to really chrono it out yet.
for sure its a slight handicap but fun and accurate rifle. I just grabbed a bunch of rounds to test just no time with work recently, I would be happy with 2500fps
