6.5 CM Hunting Bullet

lol reading some of the stuff in here has me nervous to try the 6.5CM. I haven’t hunted with mine yet, but I’m half tempted to just leave it in the cabinet.
A friend of mine lost the first two deer he shot with his 6.5, and sold it…and I’ve heard a lot of the same type of stories. I really can’t see it being that bad of a round for hunting. 🤷‍♂️

What makes the 6.5Creedmoor so defective?
It is in the same realm as the 6.5/06, 260 Remington ,the 6.5x55 Swede, 6.5 Mannlicher Schoenauer, and the various calibers one size up and down.
It's just a cartridge, it has to be aimed in the right spot to make things work, same as any other cartridge.

That’s the way I’m thinking. I’m thinking it’s finest kind…I know it’s not any kind of super cartridge, but I’m sure it’s fine. Just heard so many horror stories about it.

Reputation probably gets pulled down a bit by various Bubbas thinking that the Most Accurate Cartridge will somehow make up for their lack of skill and steer itself toward the target and figure it out for them, and then when it doesn't actually do that it's the cartridge's fault.

I wish I could find the guy who sell their 6.5’s cuz they suck. I would pick up a few. My sons 6.5C took an elk with the 127lrx. 25yard shot. Elk spun and they thought it ran but it died and slid down a small hill on the game trail. My daughter has used hers to shoot a mulie, moose and elk. All one shot. She is using the 143eldx( I know not relevant to the thread)

Put the bullet in the right place. As with every gun.

Ok so my daughter Lindsay took her first deer last week, a Whitetail spike, using her 6.5 Creedmoor and the 127gr LRX entered the front left neck and right through the off side shoulder, deer dropped dead,
Since we were seeing lots of bucks I asked her if she wanted to wait for a bigger one......she said I just want the meat Dad I don't care how big the antlers are !!
two seconds later dead deer, I gotta say congrats to my kid as she just up and shot it without hesitation....and looks like the 127gt LRX is her favourite hunting bullet now !

I was really hoping we could get her on a Bull Elk as we had non stop action for 8 days, called several bulls in but no 6 point elk in the mix.

all in all we had an awesome trip with family and friends.

Well I’m a bit bored so let’s see if we can liven things up a BIT 🤪

So I like to use different bullets sometimes to see the Results . 🤷‍♂️

Just gonna try a new bullet in my 6.5 CM deer hunting rifle and I am trying to decide which out of these 2 bullets I might use . The Hornady 130 CX or the Barnes 127 LRX . Both shoot equally “ Well “ from my UL Rifle at 2800 fps plus .
Also there is a chance on a moose in the same area as well as a Black bear too .

I have experienced Kills with a LRX bullet in a different cartridge and it worked Excellent but never killed any thing with a CX yet 🤷‍♂️

So what you 6.5 CM Guys think 🤔 😀

Don’t give a HECK hearing about other bullets or weights ! 🥸 Thanks 😊
My bullet of choice would be either 130 or 140 grain Nosler Accubond, whichever shoots the most accurate. I'm a 100% Nosler handloader/hunter.

Its OK track  the thread was derailed about post 3 or so on ! :ROFLMAO:
Maybe it'd help to have put the two bullet names in the thread title? That stays visible long after the first post has rolled out of sight. But folks are staying on topic of "6.5 CM Hunting Bullet" even if they like more different ones of those.
