6.5 creedmoor etiquette / hunting ammo choice

The Jelous FOLKs who don't have a 6.5 Creed is Amazing ! :slap: RJ

If I wanted a 'Canoe Paddle' I might grab one. But that's not really my style.
So Jelousy doesn't come into it, it would only involve 1 antique or several Milsurps sold to make it happen. And it's Jealousy BTW.
It's sorta like the 375 Ruger vs 375 H & H...just poking fun. Can't get too Butthurt when the opposing faction gets a good one on you.

I didn't become a Creedmo ho to use it for hunting, just wanted a range gun to play with, so I bought one that's too heavy for comfortable hauling around and put one them ginormoose scopes on it, that picks out flea hairs at a mile, with a bipod that weighs another pound or two. After all, I have a real hunting rifle in 7-08. Ain't got enough hair to make a man bun, but, I expect if I wiggle my camo fanny pack I'll find a few mo ho's around and we can all have a group fondle and grope session. If we could talk Gatehouse into coming we could all splooge his Wuga.

143ELDX launched at 2600 from 20" barrel. Sika Stag 350m.

with a short 20" barrel I still think the CM has the edge over the Swede because of the higher pressure. Modern 6.5x55 pressure as in the CIP is only 3800bar (same as 8x57, 7x57) vs ~4300bar for the CM. I have not heard of a +P version of the Swede as in +P stamped brass.

What was the retained weight of that bullet Edi? Curious to know in comparison to known favourites like Partitions and Barnes. Thx.

We love you Brad!

Any advice on how to properly embed this tribute to Brad is appreciated.

Lol..... It's 2020..... I will leave it at that lest i get an infraction.....

Now, if that "Brad" is supposed to be me, they depicted me all wrong..... I drive a pickup, have short hair and I don't do bars because there are none around here that have Busch or PBR on tap.... I will admit that I have pseudo-brad's luck with women, but I am sure that, should I convert and shoot a 6.5 creed, all of that would be instantly resolved....

Meh....

I would have thought it would be be "coming out" to your parents..... Who knew?

Let’s see about the Fem-Bot 6.5 Creedmoor, low recoil and accurate this way all those 300 MAG guys can finally print a decent group at 100 yards and leave the range before hunting season with their heads held high,

about 40 different reasonably priced factory loaded target and hunting ammo options , just about every rifle company chambers rifles in it, tons of aftermarket bullet and excellent brass options, I don’t think the 6.5 Swedes and the 6.5 Rem mag guys can say that !

Honestly what’s not to like about the 6.5 CM, I’ve owned several and they’ve all shot well with factory ammo, to the OP really depends on what factory ammo your rifle will like, Nosler 120gr Etips, Hornady 143gr eldx, Hornady 120gr GMX, Barnes 120gr ttsx or the 127gr LRX all are great hunting ammo options.

Agreed. It astounds me that guys who claim to shoot at all can’t see the forest for the trees. And quite frankly, the biggest voice to this cartridge are the detractors.

All kidding aside, the Hornady Precision 143 ELDX is pretty good. I handload the 143 ELDX in my 65CM and it is very accurate. I took a deer with ELDX in another calibre and it did it's job. The velocities that you'll get in the 65CM are perfect for the ELDX as well. I've seen some results of a guy who shot a bull caribou at 400 and it went down. 6.5 is a good calibre. It's not magical but the calibre plus heavier bullet weight will lead to great penetration and performance. (I've also done up a 127LRX at 2900 fps! Can't wait to use that on a moose!) Besides, placement > calibre/power everyday...
